Childhood eye conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes) affect about 5% of children. If these conditions are identified early, treatment is often successful.

Relatively common age related conditions affecting the adult population such as glaucoma and cataracts can be managed with much success with proper care. The more challenging eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration require dedicated and frequent observation.
